JOY DROP IN CENTER
JOY Drop-In Center is designed to help meet the specific needs of unaccompanied youth. JOY, which stands for Just Our Youth, offer our participants a centralized space where they can voluntarily come in and receive access to emergency shelter, food, survival aid, treatment and counseling, crisis intervention, and follow-up support. Our services are open to all youth living in Baltimore with or without referral to any youth seeking help.
JOY believes in connecting all youth to housing while simultaneously connecting them to employment, school and/or training programs. We try to meet the youth at their level and assist them with direct care at their own pace. JOY also provides case management for each client which allows us to track their progress. We also work hard to find emergency placement, transitional and permanent housing options to get our clients off the streets. All information shared is held confidential.
JOY Baltimore has adopted a “We Don’t Give Up” policy. We work closely with individuals and families to assist them to meet their goals of housing permanence and gainful employment. We maintain a 30/60/90-day rule with our clients. We stay involved regardless of which agency they transition to. This allows us to track their progress and assess any additional needs.
